Hello, my name is Leo and I engage in various creatives pursuits, including visionary art, illustration, scholarly work and the practice and study of yoga.

Why Man of Symbols?

​

This name was inspired by psychologist Carl Jung's book "Man and his symbols." It explores the significance and interpretation of symbols in the human psyche. The book delves into the collective unconscious, archetypes, dreams, and the process of individuation. It provides a comprehensive understanding of how symbols reflect and influence our inner world, guiding towards a deeper appreciation of the symbolic language of the unconscious mind.

The exploration of symbolism and archetypes allows me to infuse my art with layers of meaning and invite viewers to delve into their own unconscious mind. By synthesizing elements from nature, personal experiences, and meditative practices, I bring forth visual translations of symbols and insights gained during meditation.

 

Furthermore, the concepts within the symbols of my own subconscious encourage me to embark on a journey of self-discovery and self-exploration. I incorporate introspection, observation, and self-inquiry inspired by yogic practices to deepen my understanding of the symbols and archetypal motifs that emerge in my artwork.

 

Since the language of the unconscious are Symbols and the mean of communication are dreams, I find inspiration in the vast and rich symbolism of ancient mysticism, Jungian archetypes, eastern philosophies, inner cosmology, dreams and esotericism that cross the boundaries of cultures. I combine elements from nature with visions from meditative experiences. Furthermore, I incorporate the visual translation of symbols and insights gained from observation and self inquiry.

In summary, my artistic endeavors encompass a range of disciplines, combining elements from ancient wisdom and personal spiritual exploration to create uniquely inspired works.

Recently, I have incorporated AI technology into my creative process, which has significantly enhanced and expanded my artistic capabilities. In addition to working with traditional media such as acrylic, watercolor, and color pencils, I now harness the power of AI to create and manipulate art using various techniques, including digital painting, photography, photo editing, and AI-generated art.

By integrating AI into my workflow, I can explore innovative ways to express my creativity and push the boundaries of traditional art. This marriage of traditional and digital techniques allows me to create captivating and visually compelling pieces.
